Bob’s kitchen was a typical track home kitchen with poor space planning and bad lighting. It had too many appliances for the size of the space. We got rid of the oven/microwave cabinet and recommended a slide in stove with a microwave above. This enabled us to free up 3 feet of counter space on the right side of the stove area. The original builder had the cabinets follow the angle of the kitchen walls which really curtailed the cabinet storage space. We deleted the bar overhang that was not being used and straightened out the run of kitchen cabinets on the sink wall. Now we were able to get a bank of drawers and a wastebasket pullout on each side of the sink. Other features are large drawers for pots and pans with roll out shelves in the pantry. We increased usable storage space in this kitchen by 35% with out increasing the total square footage of the kitchen.
